Connect your email

Sending customer emails from your own address through SMTP, Resend or Postmark.

Booking confirmations, quotes, invoices, receipts and reminders go out from your own email address, so customers recognise them and can reply to you. Until you connect your email, nothing is sent: emails BookandManage would have sent are logged as Not sent, so you can see what would have gone.

Set it up in Settings, Email (or step 7 of the setup wizard).

Choose your provider under Fill in for to fill in the server, port and security for Gmail or Google Workspace, Outlook or Microsoft 365, or Zoho. For anything else, your email provider or web host can tell you the settings.

  • Username is usually your full email address.
  • Password: Gmail and Outlook usually need an app password rather than your normal one. Create it in your account's security settings.

Send the test email

You must send a test email before you can save. Enter where it should go in Send the test email to and check it arrives.

While you're trying things out, While testing, send every email to sends all customer emails to that one address instead of to customers. Clear it when you're ready to go live.

Sender details

  • Sender name: usually your trading name.
  • Send from: the address emails come from.
  • Replies go to: where customer replies land, if different.
  • Footer: a line at the bottom of every email, such as your address and phone number.

If emails aren't arriving

  1. Check Emails, Sent emails. If the email shows Not sent, your email isn't connected or that template is off. If it shows Failed, open it to see why.
  2. Send the test email again from Settings, Email. If it fails, the password may have changed or the app password may have been removed.
  3. Ask the customer to check their junk folder.
  4. If the address was wrong, correct it and resend from the email.
