Using BookandManage

Website widgets

Search bars, car listings and enquiry forms for your own website: building, styling and installing them.

Widgets put parts of BookandManage on your own website: a search bar, your cars with prices, or an enquiry form. Visitors use them on your site, and what they send arrives in BookandManage as a lead. You don't need a new website; any site that lets you paste a line of HTML will do.

Widgets live in the Channels area. You need the Manage website widgets permission. The Channels overview shows live widgets, website leads this month and widget enquiries.

Creating a widget

New widget asks two questions:

  1. What do you want on your website? Search bar, car listing or enquiry form.
  2. What do you offer? Car rental, rent to own, or both.

Optionally, enter your website's address. BookandManage matches its colours, font and buttons, and allows the widget to show there. Then the builder opens.

The builder

The builder has three steps on the left and a live preview on the right, on desktop or phone.

The widget builder: setup on the left and a live desktop preview of a car listing on the right.
  1. 1Save draft or Publish. More has the hosted page, pause, duplicate and delete.
  2. 2Step 1, Setup: which cars, fields and wording.
  3. 3Preview on desktop or phone.
  4. 4The live preview, with your real cars and prices.
  5. 5Step 2, Look: match your website, or set it by hand.

1. Setup

What's here depends on the widget:

  • Search bar: which fields to show (times, driver age, budget, return branch).
  • Car listing:
    • What to list: car models, model years, individual cars (never with rego or VIN), or categories. Limit it to certain categories, models or branches, and to rental, rent-to-own or both.
    • Filters visitors can use: dates, category, price, seats, transmission, fuel, rent-to-own, branch and sort order.
    • Cards: grid or list, two to four columns, image shape and fit, style, what each card shows (category, years, specs, daily, weekly or rent-to-own price, availability), the button label and how many per page.
    • The car page: gallery, features and a price calculator.
    • What happens at the end: a short enquiry, or a booking request where the visitor chooses dates and branch, adds extras, gives their details and sees the price before sending. You can allow a different return branch and require them to accept your terms with a link.
  • Enquiry form fields: first name, last name, email and mobile are always there. Add standard questions (what they're after, type of car, model, pickup, return, pickup branch, where their licence was issued, how they heard about you, anything else) and your own questions: short answer, long answer, dropdown, checkboxes, date, number or yes/no. Fields can be half or full width, and you can reorder them.
  • Text: heading, intro, button label and small print.
  • After sending: show a message, or send them to a page on your site.
  • Give them to: who owns the leads (they also get the follow-up task), and the rental type to record when the form doesn't ask.

2. Look

  • Match your website reads your site's colours, font and button style in one click. You can still change anything.
  • Presets: Clean, Bold, Dark and Minimal.
  • Theme: light, dark, or match the visitor's device.
  • Colours, with a warning if text would be hard to read.
  • Font, text size, corners, spacing (compact or comfortable), buttons (filled, outline or pill) and whether to show your logo.
  • Custom CSS for anything else. Your rules only apply inside the widget.

3. Add to your website

  • Allowed websites: the domains the widget may appear on (subdomains included). The widget won't load anywhere else.
  • Embed code: one line to paste where the widget should appear.
  • Hosted link: a page of its own you can share in an email, a text or on social media, with no website needed.

The embed code looks like this:

<script src="https://app.bookandmanage.com/embed.js" data-org="your-business" data-widget="WGT-78RV" async></script>

Use Publish to make the widget live, and Publish changes after editing. Widgets are Draft, Live or Paused. Each one shows its views, submissions and conversion rate in the widgets list.

What happens when someone uses a widget

  • Every enquiry becomes a lead with the source Website, owned by whoever you chose. The lead's Website form card records the page they were on, where they came from, any campaign tags and which widget they used.
  • A booking request also creates an accepted quote with the price worked out, ready to convert to a booking once you've confirmed the car.
  • If the Enquiry received email template is on and your email is connected, the visitor gets an acknowledgement.
